4. Analytics & Listener Data
Dropwave provides IAB 2.0 compliant podcast analytics. When listeners download or stream episodes hosted on our platform, we collect standard HTTP request data to generate analytics for podcast creators. This includes:
- IP addresses (used for geographic aggregation, then discarded)
- User agent strings (to identify device types and podcast apps)
- Download timestamps and episode identifiers
Listener data is aggregated and presented to podcast creators in anonymized form. We do not build individual listener profiles, sell listener data, or use it for advertising purposes.
5. Email Privacy
RSS feeds require an email address per podcast specification. Dropwave offers three email privacy modes for your RSS feed:
- Public: Your email address appears in the RSS feed as-is
- Masked: A proxy email address (@feeds.dropwave.io) is used in your feed
- Hidden: Your email is omitted from the feed wherever possible
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We use third-party services to operate our platform, including Stripe (payments), cloud storage providers (audio hosting), and email delivery services. These providers access only the data necessary to perform their functions.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. Audio files are stored on S3-compatible object storage. We use encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we retain your data for 30 days to allow for data export, after which it is permanently deleted. Aggregated analytics data (which cannot identify individual listeners) may be retained indefinitely.
9. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Our live chat widget (Chatwoot) uses its own cookies for functionality. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of the Service.

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
